I did this project at work 2 months ago for a Pumpkin Decorating Kit. In this post, I'll show you the steps I took to create it!

Safari Adventure Kids Dishware
This project took me a while to do since I drew the animals realistically in Illustrator. It wasn't too difficult tho cuz I pretty much traced over photos of real animals. But for the Giraffe I used 2 or 3 different photos I traced and put together to get the pose of the Giraffe I wanted...same thing with the monkeys and lion. Then I placed them in a safari desert scene and put those on templates of kids plates, bowls and spoons and forks and other stuff. Phew! thats a lot of work! lol

Eco-Friendly Baby Toys
Designs I made for baby toys made out of wood. Different textures and sounds are supposed to inspire the baby to learn sounds and touch. The factory produced really cheap ugly samples of what I drew out here.. I never knew if they proceeded with selling them since they came out crappy.. Oh well! At least they look nice on paper!

Tea Boxes.. A Long Time Ago
This was some tea box artwork I did a veeery very long time ago..like years back. I uploaded it to the blog because it's still one of my favorite pieces I did. The concept here was, to sell a "Tea Set" of 6 boxes that had painted artwork on each box, but create a larger painting when all 6 were put together. I didn't actually paint those paintings(i wish)..they're just linked images we had on our server. You can see how the 6 boxes create the large one. The logo was created by a coworker.

Disney Spinner Chimes
I did these chimes last week. They're like wind chimes, except they don't chime..they just spin. Anyway, they're just a visual to try to entice the buyer into liking the idea so that they make an order for it. It's all Disney licensed artwork again, done in Illustrator with 3D effects to make some of the little hanging things look like they are.. hanging duh.

Brag Book Covers revised
So here are the same brag books from before but have been revised because the stupid buyer didn't like the first round. He didn't like the flower designs, which I thought were awesome, and he didn't like the colors on the stripes, which I don't care. Oh! and this was stupid, he said that the dots were too straight before... so I scattered them. And he wanted to see an extra option with green and white dots. Can we say OY VEI!
Brag Book Cover options
Mickey Brag Book Covers
Brag books are like small travel size photo albums that you keep in your bag instead of having big photo albums. So here I used Disney licensed artwork to create 2 options of Mickey & Minnie, and 2 options of the Disney Princesses. The artwork was sent to Asia where they produced samples of the actual thing.

mp3 Designs
I did these designs a while back already. Basically, my job wanted to create mp3 players that have no memory installed in it. It would be up to the consumer to provide his/her own USB stick with music in it, so that they can stick it in the player and thus completing the entire mp3 player. Wonderful isn't it! ...yeah I know, crap. Maybe that's why it was never picked up and failed to make an impression for a potential buyer. Either way, I made the designs and yeah... here they are.

Halloween Sticker Designs
Ed Hardy Designs
These were some Ed Hardy-like designs I made for a chocolate box not too long ago. The box is supposed to look like it has a shirt wrapped around the cover of it. The final product might actually be printed on fabric, but it all depends on printing costs. All 3 designs were miraculously accepted as they were and sent for production. I took a picture of samples that were already made in China and sent over to a showroom at my job. Sorry the picture kinda sucks, but the designs are nice right?! =D

Disney dive sticks designs
I made these designs for kids dive sticks to play in the pool. It was all using Disney licensed artwork, but I had to really think about how to maintain the stick shape while still using the characters. It came out nice I think, and I don't even know if they were mass produced yet, or which ones Walgreens picked, or when they would sell. But if you see them in stores, let me know!

Bike Accessory options
Here is a perfect example of my work process. I was told to do some options for bike accessory packaging starting with what we call a blister card. I was given some photo options downloaded from photos.com and I chose which ones I thought would work best. So here, I created 6 options, one with an overall photo background and some with only graphics and the rest with a combination of both. I made sure to use sporty colors and also gave options that are crazy and not so crazy. After I submitted the options, they came back and told me they liked option 6 and to do another option in the same style but with a different picture and different colors. At this point, they are moving forward with the look of Option 6 and I have to apply the art on other packaging templates to show how everything will look together. I'll post those later.
